beet salad encore catering toronto fall menu inspiration

Autumn has finally hit Toronto! Who can say no to the fall weather—the coziness of falling leaves as they change colours, the crisp, cool breeze and how nice it feels to not be sweating immediately right after you walk outside!

What better way to enjoy the season than with a pumpkin spice latte some seasonal food from our very own catering menu!

Looking for a catering menu with hearty dishes that will warm up your guests?

Here are our top picks for what you can look forward to serving at your function!

The beet salad pictured above features corn nuts and goat cheese—the slight sweetness of the beets paired with the goat cheese is akin to pairing a very earthy wine with a great soft cheese. The corn nuts are optional, but they add a different layer of texture to the soft composed dish.

lobster salad avocado papaya encore catering toronto fall menu inspiration

Lobster salad with avocado, papaya, macadamia nuts. This lobster salad is always a hit with the crowd. Avocado and papaya are mixed together with palm sugar and then deshelled lobster claw is placed delicately on top. This is a very refreshing plate from the superfruit combination, and considerably lighter than the beet salad. The consensus for the lobster salad? Really great to serve if you are looking for an h’ors d’oeuvres, or a lighter salad before a heavy main dish!

jamon dates bacon port encore catering toronto fall menu inspiration

Jamon Dates, stuffed with manchego and drizzle of port reduction. Remember being told not to eat sweets before dinner? Well this h’or d’oeuvres is almost candy! The bacon caramelizes while the manchego inside starts to melt. With little kick of sliced serrano chili, it is then finished with a dollop of port reduction. The port reduction is rich and sweet, and being a quick bite, it’s perfect for warming up your guests who’ve just strolled in.

Lamb Rack with natural jus, smashed potatoes, fried kale and vegetable ratatouille. The tenderness of this lamb rack will astound your guests! With a crunchy green and black kale, robust vegetable ratatouille to accompany this jus-laden lamb, this composed dish speaks volumes of comfortable, cozy and hearty.

Flan! An all time favourite. Not much to say here—you should know this by now! We have our flan accompanied with toasted coconut flakes. A smooth and easy to eat dessert.

Our deconstructed carrot cake! DIY is in—so now you can ‘dessert-it-yourself’. Also quite self-explanatory, when you’re in the mood for something different from pumpkin pie (we know how it’s going to be when Thanksgiving rolls around), this carrot cake is wonderful for those just looking for a small portion of dessert! Can be served as is or turned into an interactive station.

Those are our picks for welcoming the new season! Speak with your catering coordinator to find out more seasonal options and what we can add to your catering menu! We’re always thinking of new dishes, using the freshest and best produce available to make sure your meal and event is unforgettable!
